Tool for language acquisitions
According to Common goals of 2009 from the Danish department of Education, the classes have to develop the students' awareness of the English language and language acquisition. As part of the common goals and language acquisition, the students must learn to work in pairs and together with a partner solve an assignment or a communicative task. (CommonGoals: s.6)
The lesson plan should lead to the students acquiring skills and competences to express themselves in English, and with the use of body language and mimic. As part of the communicative goals for children in the fourth grade, being able to talk on a “close to home” subject matter in English is an objective, which will be worked towards.(IBID:s6)
The teacher must provide the students with tools for use in their acquisition of the English language. I see the acquisition of a language as a unified whole with influences from many factors, but in this synopsis my focus will be on task based input with interaction and output as my choice of model for English language acquisition.
