I have chosen to write about Harry Potter and the fantasy genre because I am fascinated with Harry Potter and the world in which the book takes place. I find the genre exiting and to me Harry Potter is an opportunity to get sucked into a completely different world – a world so far from mine, but jet so spellbinding that you just keep on reading.
I started wondering, why it is that I, along with practically every human being, find this book so interesting. The answer to this question could be that we get to use our imagination. When we read the book we start to visualize the events and a movie starts to take place in our heads. For a moment we become entertained and finish the book with a new hope that miracles can still happen – that good is stronger than evil.
It is said that in the Folkeskole one should work with things that students find interesting, things they know from their everyday life. This leads me to my thesis:

“Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone” belongs to the fantasy genre and there are some general aspects one needs to know about this genre.
